It has been quite some time since I posted something, uploaded a video, wrote a blog, made a printable etc. Let's just say, this pandemic and self-isolation has had a bigger effect on me than I could have ever imagined at the beginning of this pandemic. Even though I am no stranger to isolation it is though. But that is not what I wanted to talk about maybe I'll post a new blog soon about how it has been going. I figured I would try to pick up a little where I left of because crafting always makes me happy, so... to start off I made some new Valentines day printables.

I have made a new mandala colouring page which you can download for free in PDF format on the colouring pages page. I always love making colouring pages myself it is quite relaxing making them and also giving them some colour. I think for me the colouring is the most relaxing part. Because that is where you don't really have to think about what you are gonna draw just pick some pretty colours and just make it come alive. Well, at least that is how I feel. On the colouring pages page, you can find more Valentines day inspired printables from more colouring pages to cards and name tags. For me, Valentine's day doesn't have to be something big you know. I think it is the little things that matter so if it is a card on which you tell someone what they mean to you or a mandala filled with someone's favourite colours I think those are the things that make something special and makes someone feel special. I hope you feel a little inspired to make something for your Valentine and I wish you a lovely Valentines day.

Hi I am Poppy

Hi there, maybe you have been following me here for a while or maybe it is the first time you have visited my blog. But since I haven't posted for a while I thought it would be a nice opportunity to kind of reintroduce myself. So I created Poppy Makes when I was 21 and I have always liked to crafting and baking. I like to be creative sounds so vague but it basically comes to that. I make video tutorials in which I show you how I make or bake something, which tools I have used, which tricks I have picked up along the way and these videos sometimes also include free printable patterns which I made myself. But I also make other kinds of printables like cards, calendars, mandala colouring pages etcetera and they are always free to download in PDF format. Of course, I like to scroll through all the pages of Pinterest, Instagram, just the web to find some inspiration and try to make or bake it myself. In the past two years I have picked up a new hobby and I have been learning how to play the ukelele. It has always been a dream of mine to learn to play an instrument. Although I can't say I am absolutely nailing this ukelele thing I have posted since then a couple of ukelele videos on my YouTube channel where you can follow my progress but also I show you in the videos which chords I use and strumming patterns. I am always open to new suggestions and ideas for a new video so don't be shy and come and follow me on any of my other social media channels or leave a comment down below.

Poppy Makes... a mandala colouring page

Today I have got a new mandala colouring page, free for you to download. All you have to do is click here. I haven't posted it on the colouring page yet but, if you just click on the link you will be able to download it. I will also post it later today on the colouring pages page. It is a Sinterklaas inspired colouring page because next Monday it will be Pakjesavond. Pakjesavond is every year on December 5th and is the day when we celebrate the birthday of Sinterklaas. Sinterklaas lives in Spain and visits Holland every year by boat. He always arrives a couple of weeks before Pakjesavond and children (also adults) are then allowed to put their shoe by the fireplace (or door or window or just any good spot) so when you sleep he brings a gift, kind of like hanging up your stocking. To receive a gift in your shoe you can sing a song, leave something yummy for Sinterklaas and/or his horse, make a pretty drawing etc. And then the next morning you are most likely to find a gift on your shoe mostly a small gift or some kind of sweets. Have fun!

Yes this post is indeed about Halloween. You may have noticed I haven't done a video tutorial yet for this years Halloween. I have posted a new Halloween mandala coloring page though which you can download on the coloring pages page  but, you may have also read that I was planning on something for this years Halloween. Correct again! This year I am not doing 1 but 4 Halloween inspired video tutorial all which are outfit/costume related. I will show you how to make the coolest, scariest and also cutest things easily yourself. These 4 video tutorials will be uploaded next Wednesday (October 26). So don't forget to checkout my YouTube channel and click on that subscribe button so you'll won't miss a thing.
